A warm water dye for Wool, Silk, Feathers, Nylon and other Protein (animal) Fibers. 40 vivid colors are bright, lightfast, washfast or drycleanable. The dyes do not contain acid or any other harmful chemicals. In fact, they have a neutral pH like water. The only thing acid is the white vinegar that you add.
You can use acid dyes for stove top dyeing, in the washing machine, to paint, print or airbrush. A 1/2 ounce bottle will dye about two pounds of fiber or fabric. Common sense and good housekeeping should be used when handling any dye or chemical. Acid dyes are quite forgiving and amenable to variations in procedure. The more you experiment, the more you will discover. The new Color Grid will help you choose colors if you need some encouragement or want to dye outside your comfort zone of color.
These are the easiest dyes to use and have great color absorption in the fiber. A sheet of directions and color chart printed by the company are included in your order. The directions include Washing Machine Dyeing, Stove Top Method and Silk Painting. See how much fun dyeing can be . See the new dyeing book, Dyeing to Knit. See the Marr Haven hand dyed yarns.
